About The Salerno's
The Salerno's have had music in their blood for generations. Antonio's family has musicians dating back to his great-grandparents on both sides of his moms and dads family. Christine and John Salerno have performed together for decades and have traveled all over the and country and the world to perform and record. They have traveled to Slovakia in Europe, lived and performed professionally in Florida, Colorado, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
John has his doctorate in Jazz Studies and Christine has her masters in Jazz Studies as well as vocal jazz. Chris and John met each other at Grad school at the University of Northern Colorado where they began playing together. Some of the great names they have played with are "The Jackson 5" and "Todd Buffa". Professionally they are very well known in Wisconsin for Jazz music. They have recorded numerous albums with globally known musicians. As teachers, both have taught at UWGB. Chris has taught at Lawerence University and now teaches at Notre Dame Academy. Chris and John have taught students that have become Professional musicians that have toured with Esperanza Spalding. Ricardo Vogt and Leala Cyr are two students to name a few.
Antonio and his brother Frankie grew up surrounded by music. There was no way to get around it, they had music in their blood. Both Antonio and Frankie have achieved so much in their young lives already. Frankie was the Jazz Guitarist for the High School Grammy Band when he was 16. He later went to school at Berklee College of music. Now he lives in Los Angeles still pursuing his musical dream. Antonio started as a percussionist and has moved to Guitar, vocals, and songwriting. He has released numerous albums in the short 3 years he has been playing.
