Antonio's musical heritage originates from Southern Italy and Sicily, from where his musical family has immigrated from. Currently residing in De Pere Wisconsin, Antonio Salerno has been working as a Professional Vocalist, Guitarist, and Composer since 2016. He is proud of his roots, but Brazilian music has come to be his forté. He prides himself on being the only solo Brazilian Jazz Musician from North Eastern Wisconsin. Antonio's unique style combines sophisticated Jazz voicing's and harmonies with complex Classical techniques. He has played at hundreds of venues including Clubs, Restaurants, Wineries, Farmers Markets, Weddings, Private events, Formal Concerts, Festivals, and Colleges around the Midwest. His main Brazilian idols are Antônio Carlous Jobim, João Gilberto, Chico Pinheiro, Ricardo Vogt & Guinga with whom Antonio has studied with at Brazil Camp in Cazadero, California in 2016 and 2018. And of course, Antônio Carlous Jobim, whom Antonio was proudly named after. Antonio's Brazilian repertoire is in the hundreds, including songs in Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and Instrumental songs. Brazilian Music has transformed his playing and has inspired him to write his own original music.
"18 Years" recorded at "Made Ya Look" in 2016, consists of 12 originally written songs by Antonio, performed by some of the most talented locally and worldly known musicians including, John Gibson, Christine, John and Frankie Salerno, Ricardo Vogt, Sabra, and Emily Paulsen. His 2nd album of original, recorded Live in NYC at Leesta Vall Studio, includes eight songs similar to his first album. In 2018 Antonio was selected to record free of charge after have submitting his first album to Reverb Nation for review. He accepted and cherished the experience. Antonio uses alternative tuning on some of these songs, making for a distinct sound. These songs were recorded on Vinyl records, giving them that "old time feeling." While in NYC, Antonio spent time with extremely talented and newly become friends whom had shown him around the heart of Manhattan, and the thriving Jazz scene. Antonio has toured the country in his two years as a Professional Musician, traveling to big cities such as Nashville, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Lexington, Chicago and New York. Performing, promoting, and recording alone on the road has taught Antonio a lot about the good and bad aspects of living as a Musician.
